Overall Master Planning and Concept Design for a 200-acre vineyard in the Columbia River Gorge. The vineyard aims to grow unique varietals for winemakers using science-based, organic, and collaborative techniques. With challenging topography, the site boasts many microclimates, soil types, and sun exposures to allow for a wide range of experimentation. The client aimed to not only produce grapes on the site, but also create a world-class destination for visiting winemakers, including a tasting center, walking trails, specialized camping experiences, and a full production facility. Special care was also taken to preserve the native oak habitat and unique basalt features, both for their aesthetic value and their habitat value for native fauna.
